Programme Overview

The Master of Project Management is designed to prepare graduates to be managers who are able to enhance their knowledge through the multidisciplinary field and are equipped with project management skills that are essential for the implementation of projects. The programme offers various and diverse courses that will enhance students’ critical enquiries, problem-solving capabilities, decision making and analytical skills. Courses like Financial Management, Strategic Management, and Marketing Management would help in developing leadership and critical analysis skills and would enable the students for better decision making in the various societal and managerial field, business and cultural contexts.

 

Programme Objective

  1. To utilize knowledge and skills in project management to upgrade career and livelihoods through a success career in project management.
  2. To become effective in collaborating and/or innovating in efforts to address social, technical and project management challenges.
  3. To engage in lifelong learning and professional development through self-study, continuing education or professional studies in project management field.

 

Program Learning Outcomes (PLOs)

Upon successful completion of the programme, graduates will be able:

1. To demonstrate mastery of knowledge in the relevant project management
2. To apply practical skills in the project management
3. To relate ideas to societal issues in the project management
4. To conduct research with minimal supervision and adhere to legal, ethical and professional codes of practice
5. To demonstrate leadership qualities through communicating and working effectively with peers and stakeholders
6. To generate solutions to problems using scientific and critical thinking skills
7. To manage information for lifelong learning

Entry Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree (Level 6, MQF) in related fields with a minimum CGPA of 2.50 as accepted by the University Senate; OR
  • A Bachelor’s degree (Level 6, MQF) in related fields with a minimum CGPA of 2.00 and not meeting CGPA of 2.50 as accepted by the University Senate, subject to an internal assessment; OR
  • A Bachelor’s degree (Level 6, MQF) in non-related fields with a minimum CGPA of 2.00 as accepted by the University Senate and with a minimum of 1-year working experience in the relevant fields, subject to an internal assessment; OR
  • A Bachelor’s degree (Level 6, MQF) in non-related fields with a minimum CGPA of 2.00 as accepted by the University Senate and without relevant  working experience, subject to passing pre-requisite courses*; OR
  • Other equivalent/relevant qualifications to a Bachelor’s degree (Level 6, MQF) recognised by the Malaysian Government.
